BIG Serpentine Pavilion – London, United Kingdom
The showpiece summer pavilion at the Serpentine Gallery in Kensington Gardens, London was designed by world renowned architects Bjarke Ingels Group. The pavilion takes the form of a superstructure at more than 15m tall to realise the concept of an "Unzipped Wall" comprised of GFRP (Glass Fibre Reinforced Polymer) boxes held together by cruciform aluminium connectors and bolts on a temporary foundation slab of reinforced concrete.
WNY provided project management, construction management and acted as Principal Contractor for the relocation of the Pavilion.
