P&G Family Home Pavilion - Sochi, Russia
Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics
The XXII Winter Olympic Games were held in Sochi in the Russian Federation in 2014. As an IOC TOP Sponsor, P&G commissioned the P&G Family Home, a temporary pavilion to be built on the Sochi Olympic Park and to act as the centerpiece of P&G’s global “Thank You Mom” marketing program.
“Thank you for everything! The home is truly fantastic. It is receiving high praise. We cannot thank you enough for your leadership and passion on this project for us.”
Plan, lead and manage the design development, engineering, procurement, fabrication and construction of the temporary pavilion on behalf of the turnkey main contractor.
The pavilion had to be designed, fabricated, deployed and constructed within 6 months from contract against a backdrop of political uncertainty and severe construction delays on the Olympic Park. This involved aggressively fast-tracking the design, fabrication and construction to ensure that the immovable completion date could be met. Communication and coordination were particular challenges as project team members were spread between San Francisco, Cincinnati, New York, London, Zurich, Moscow and Sochi. With enormous transport challenges we structured and depended on a diversified supply chain spread across Europe, Western and Central Asia.
The pavilion was delivered on budget and ahead of schedule allowing P&G to take possession earlier than planned and have additional preparation for their Games time activation. The P&G Family Home achieved unanimous acclaim and provided the backdrop to a hugely successful marketing campaign.
