The Championships are to be held at the iconic Zaha Hadid designed London Aquatics Centre over 12 days of competition followed by 5 days of Masters Competition with 4,000 athletes from across Europe.
The European Swimming Championships is the main continental meet on the world stage, bringing together top athletes across Swimming, Diving and Synchronised Swimming disciplines. It is staged biennially and will form a benchmark ahead of the Olympic Games in Rio later in 2016.
WNY’s scope involves the turnkey supply of all temporary commodities necessary for the delivery of the tournament. WNY also acts a Principal Contractor under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
WNY’s Lead Project Manager, Sam Andrews states: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to work on this highly prestigious event in one of London’s most iconic legacy venues. We had a very successful London 2012 Olympics and it is fantastic in being able to return to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park to deliver the largest event held at the London Aquatics Centre since 2012.”
